when i think of you my heart ails
knowing that our inefficient try at love failed
nothing said but perilous looks towards me
created thoughts that were inaccessible to the love
that once occupied my heart for you
desolate i sit.., but content
i think it's so crazy when i hear your name i feel no sense of anguish
before you asked without hesitation my heart answered
as if it apprehended this language of untold feelings between us
these feelings i have tried to obscure from telling
unsure the reply i will get back indeed matches them
if no match is found i'll live in agony, but happily
knowing i gave an effort worth satisfactory
but then why is it that your name calmly comes to mind
and why can't i swallow this love inside and reassemble time
why is life now bland and my heart blind
but the sense of feeling illustriously increased inside
these feelings i try to decline
but my mind becomes involved and feelings evolve
into words which involuntarily echo through my jaws
at that moment i hear your heart's applause
knowing this could be only an opportunity from god
to aspire and once again capture the desire
in which i too feel and explain it's so real
my throat hurts as if these words are impossible
for my vocals to go near
those febrile eyes make mine shed cold tears
but tears of past cries never dismissed
now the conviction of our love exists
bringing bliss
your lips muted but fluently helped me realize this
as soon as we kissed and i will always never forget
the day your heart told mine it loved it

Eric Cado

"A man reserves his true and deepest love not for the species of woman in whose company he finds himself electrified and enkindled, but for that one in whose company he may feel tenderly drowsy."
~George Jean Nathan
