Dear Little girl amina, I remember how it was since hurricane katrina,
waiting for fema to come through with your aid, didn't know it would
take this long for you to be saved,

president bush didn't give a damn about you all, he came too late, now
the water's too tall, the water's too high so you can't even crawl, so
you
fall to your knees as you crawl to the breeze, sinking below the depths
that transcend as you freeze

man, woman, and child surrounded by trees, wind blowing harder than a
solid block of cheese, Human beings on roof tops awaiting rescue to
come,

there's panic in the air, and it's seen with every stare, people
screaming out, "this is so unfair! where's our rescue? George Bush
don't care!"

You begged miss katrina to please leave you alone, what did you ever do
that was so so wrong?, you asked miss katrina what is this all for?,
she
ignored you, and then proceeded to give you all more,

all this raging water destroying your whole town, a town no more, now
it's all in the ground, After the storm is over you're left with the
sounds, the sounds of people crying, and running all around, Trying to
find ones who seem to have gone, gone with the waters, and left all
alone,

we all blame the levees, and say they weren't strong, or maybe
hurricane katrina was just way too strong, in any event it left you with
no sight, it came on suddenly, and left you in the night, "where's bush?"
you cried as you continued to fight,

hurricane katrina did damage to you all, it stung your spirits, and
made some of you fall, but there are some things that it could not
kill,
and that's your spirit, and your strong fighting will,

You all will rebuild this town, and make it stronger than before, and
then tell katrina to come give you some more, you'll make the levees
stronger to where she can't break through, and then ask miss katrina,
"what are you going to do?"

Our lives are defined not by the challenges we encounter, but by how we respond to those challenges.
