Tiny bird
falls from tree
to thorny bush

Bird cries
hopeless
stuck in briar
wings enmeshed
in pain

– She cannot fly

Take bird
gently in hand
fold wings softly
to body
pry thorns from
flesh

Blow
on feathers
give them motion
open hands

– fly away
