I pull the clips from my hair. It cascades soft against my skin
Shake my fingers through my hair. Releasing the day from within
It softly frames my face. Sunlight dances red and gold
I’ve put in a hard day… feeling tired, hot and old
Come and take me in your arms. Shield me from the rain
I won’t take up all your time. Please protect me from the pain
I can’t fix the world's strife. I can’t turn wrong into right
Let me feel safe in your arms. As we slip into the night
Today is almost gone and tomorrow might never be
What is done is done and I’ll have to set it free
All I need is to recharge: regain balance in my life
To lay safe in your arms, sailing quiet through the night
