What is this silver gossamer that binds our hearts so tightly?
While all day long inside my soul I feel your breath run through me.
Though you be gone still I hear your whispered secrets in my mind,
This lustrous gauze propels me on till next to me, you I will find.
Laughing gaily, holding hands and never keeping track of time,
Silly games and treasures shared, sweet childhood pleasures come to mind.
Stolen moments, secret glances no one else could quite define,
I hugged your pledge within my heart that one day you would be mine.
Will our unshakable and precious bond dully tarnish over time?
I say not for we have ever shared bodies, hearts, souls and minds.
Endless years of separation, deepest hurt and silent pain
The cruel joke has ended, let us salvage love that still remains.
Yet my heart falters in despair, I bleakly wonder how and where
Will we meet, me fettered here and you still patient waiting there?
Life grows ever shorter, there is no longer time to spare,
I clutch to my heart this silver gossamer in hopes it draws you near.
