One of those days when i think it through
Look into what i've done and how time flew
Me, who was so untamed,
How appearances be-fooled us two

How pointless it seems now
All makes me think just how
The time have made me stronger
And what took to make through

Friends that were everything
Now i am just left with few
Nights that were so lonely
The mistakes that made me new

The pictures i have lost,
The memories that made through,
The voices that once lingered
Are dimming down too

How losing doesn't hurt any longer
Maybe that’s part of walk through
Accepting fault isn’t hard now
I wish making them was optional too

But since love is all that matters
Believe me i love you.

Always seeking to diversity the creative offerings on our Guest Book, we have provided something very unique for readers to view today. The following original YouTube video was sent to us with the accompanying annotation:

"My name is Christina Giacona and I am with the L.A. based band Good King Friday and we have written a song using the text of E. E. Cummings "Who Knows if the Moon's a Balloon". Along with setting the text, we have also made a stop-motion animation video to accompany the song. From one poetry lover to another. Enjoy."

Daily Quote: "Ultimately, we must learn to trust ourselves. When we do this intimately and intelligently, the world opens full of meaning before us. We find that we ourselves are the doorway to a fathomless understanding of the source of life itself. We need only to learn to walk through it."

-- James Thornton

How others thought I could never think
my thoughts being far from civilization's sanity brink;
Like others felt I could rarely feel
My joys far away from cultures appeal

The sun was always only half seen,
and dried the mornings summer dew
By ways of others, thrilled I have few times been,
since adolescence I slept through nights very few

Bewildered and rather poignant was my atmosphere;
the inquiry how to handle; my conscious was not sincere
Though in trance like state of the inevitable I sought refuge
Bizarre, shaky was my resolve; drown I would in its deluge

The shore of the sea kept restricted cool sand
as I stood in them, my soul finally begun to stand
I wonder why when the waters hit my feet,
I looked at the ocean, the sheltered land may have felt defeat

For long the land struggled, for me to be stable
But now I knew it was the ocean I would always resemble
The land burned from mores at the surface and ashes at the conscious core;
But the waters ran deep, alone, a cool, silent and mysterious store

Marcus Hades

The earth shakes
The moon walks
And the stars
Oh the stars shine

The clouds in
Colors so plain
Turn the darkest sky
To a lighter heaven above

They fly when the moon
Only walks
They draw near
As the stars twinkle
For the destined meeting

And the earth rumbles
When they amass
It seems they
The color within dull darkness
Burst and fight

Smaller things see
When they stare to
Witness the walking moon
And shining stars

As each come
A devil and dragon
Bewitching an angel with
Black wings

A bearded god carrying a wand
Long and thin
Drowns monsters
So ugly none could
Think gods created
Such things

In the starry sky
As the moon walks
Across dark, dull sky
Clouds rein above

Showing stories
Of battles
And struggles
Older than death

Every time I see my pansies
Vivid in the golden sun,
You are with me in my garden,
And I am once again a child.

Vivid in the golden sun,
Their beauty brings me close to tears,
And I am once again a child
Learning to assume your grace.

Their beauty brings me close to tears
As I join hands with you in love,
Learning to assume your grace,
Dancing to your inner music.

As I join hands with you in love,
You are with me in my garden,
Dancing to your inner music
Every time I see my pansies.

Sideways picture frames,
She looks at me, doesn’t know my name.
I say, “It’s me.”
She says, “Who would that be?”
& mutters a soliloquy.

She points at the glass to clear her throat,
As I take off my woolen coat,
& pull up a wooden chair,
& look at her ancient hair.

I tell her that I’m doing good,
& Mona’d come out if she could.
& she points and looks at the sky,
& says a scarecrow just passed by,
& I didn’t know what to do,
I’m just a boy she knew.

The room became so tense
She said things that made no sense.
About a man with a broom and a flute,
Who looked real good in a suit.
& I asked her which man,
& she said it was the one
Who fades into the evening sun.

I saw Death at the bedroom door
& fell to the wooden floor,
“Do you remember anything?
The morning’s when you would sing,
In the garden with the sun,
& laugh with everyone?”
(This dream that we’re in,
Is stuck in a coffin,
It’s not one that we choose,
But it’s just the one we’re use to).
& she said, “Who are you?”
“Mama, I’m the boy you knew.”

I walk these cracked streets under city lights.

I feel myself fading in the black night.

I see sirens wailing and fires burning.

I see the junkies with their heads turning.

In these streets I see the souls of the dead.

I hear their thoughts whispering in my head.

I have my life to live if I so choose.

It’s my life to win or my life to lose.

I’m not sure where I can turn to these days.

Will I forever be trapped in this haze?

I want to be free from this captive state.

Maybe one day I will set my life straight.

Maybe I won’t be trapped here after all.

With God by my side I’ll escape these walls.

Frosty days and ice-still nights,
Fir trees trimmed with tiny lights,
Sound of sleigh bells in the snow,
That was Christmas long ago.

Tykes on sleds and shouts of glee,
Icy-window filigree,
Sugarplums and candle glow,
Part of Christmas long ago.

Footsteps stealthy on the stair,
Sweet-voiced carols in the air,
Stocking hanging in a row,
Tell of Christmas long ago.

Starry nights so still and blue,
Good friends calling out to you,
Life, so fact, will always slow...
For dreams of Christmas long ago.

Jo Geis

Whence
I came running
to rescue
maidens
and fight
villains.

to me
the desire
to be hero
superseded
everything else
in life.

I wanted
to help others
more than
helping
myself. I
learned
a good
lesson
from that.

I walked
a narrow
walk
a plank
of life
without
spilling
my guts
even once.

Tomorrow
I walk even
grander
I still
rescue maidens
and skewer
villains
but with smile.

Stars in the dark night, look like angels playing in the sky,
they twinkle and give light
radiant and bright bring life to,
silent sleepy night,
their aura fills the sky with long lasting grace,
whole night stars in sky are not tired of filling,
empty night with their glow taking away the lovers' sighs,
stars twinkle never fade like blessing of god given to us,
for living life, their might changes the lonely night into maiden,
beautiful and filled with starry feeling in the eyes..

Don't you love, the way these Psychics,
try to rope you in? Telling you, if you act
right now, a lot of money, is yours to win!
All you have to do, is listen to what they
have to say. By picking up the telephone
and for the first five minutes, you don't
have to pay! Once you're roped in, how
will you be able to quit? They'll have so
much to tell you, you'll want to hear all of
it! Included in what they want to inform you,
is love is waiting for you and it's not, that
far away. If he or she, knew all the answers,
they'd know I was committed, in a big way!
They try to tell you, how you'll find romance.
They see it happening, if you let your guard
down and take a chance. If they were so
astute, as they pretend to be, then they
would have to know, God already had,
blessed me! I'm married, so I'm not,
looking for the man of my dreams, as
he's already in my life. I'm not searching
for greener pastures, as we're still in love
and we'll forever be, husband and wife!

Audrey Heller

When we go on holiday
we like to see a bright sun above,
but there are occasions when
we are treated to liquid sunshine and powdered rain.

Sometimes the seasons get mixed up
and summer comes late
and other times winter calls
in the middle of the year.

There are even times when
each season will visit us each day.
However when you are on holiday
you enjoy it without a care.

Early in the morning you get powdered rain
and by mid morning the liquid sunshine calls.
Before the evening falls
you feel the warm rays of the sun.

No one can predict the weather,
we have to take it as it comes.
When you go on holiday
just go out and have some fun.

David Harris

Falling for you was the best thing I could ever do
How did I get so weak for you?
I wouldn’t lie
You know I’d die
Taking a bullet for you
Maybe I’m lame
But would you do the same?

When the sun sets down tonight
And the stars aren’t out
Will you be the light that would shine in my sky
You’re the reason my heart is beating for
And nothing else seems important anymore
When I’m with you, time stands still
I wouldn’t trade this moment for the world

Like a moth that’s drawn to a flame
Drawn to a flame
Like a moth that’s drawn to a flame
Like a moth drawn to a flame
I’ll burn myself for you

Maya Harfouche
