When the ocean is stormy
I sail my best
For the calm, peaceful seas
They are not a test
It's when the waves are crashing
And it feels the end is nearing
Those moments make you cherish
When you come to the clearing
It's the bad times that shape us
To who we need to be
To appreciate the good times
This truth sets us free
Daily Quote: Most of us love, to be sure. Yet far too often our love is passive.
We must be proactive in our love in order for it to change our lives.
- Marianne Williamson

I am a silent warrior.
I sit at my desk and fight.
I will not join the army
but I battle through the night.
I am a lover of the right.
My pen reflects the sun
when I hold it in the sky
and it destroys the gun.
I am a silent warrior.
I make no sound but falling tears.
They stain my paper and bleed my ink
and testify to my fears.
I am the smallest presence.
There is not much I can do,
but maybe we can get somewhere
if you will join in, too.
Sarah S.
Daily Quote: Always try to do something for the other fellow and you will be agreeably surprised how things come your way -- how many pleasing things are done for you.
- Claude M. Bristol
Linguist Corner-ITALIAN: aspettare: / to wait / expression.
Example:
Ho aspettato l'autobus per più di un'ora!
Translation: I waited for the bus for more than an hour.
Courage and integrity are wondrous things to see
In your eyes I see them both looking back at me
Courage and integrity before were simply words
Vowels and consonants, sounds that I have heard,
Visions from old battlefields, heroes standing tall,
Yet now I see them in your eyes in writing very small.
Courage and integrity at last I understand
The beauty of the meaning behind the open hand.
Courage and integrity are wondrous things to see
One day my love I hope you see them looking back at thee.
Craig Norris
"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to the body and soul."
~John Muir
