The click clack of high heels
Against a set marble path
Walking down brick tracks
Following the ridges of my back
Like a train and its tracks
Click clack click clack
Walking up stone stairs, like coyotes in a pack
Scavenging off the deceased
All dressed in black
The snap of fake nails being pressed on
Chewed ruins cracked, now colorful dunes
With the tactless taste of tobacco under the skin
As tasteless music played, these fingers convey
A drunken orchestra of piano keys placed in an array
And the flowers are laid
In the vase of the slain
Why you here so soon?
As the funerals fumes exit the sir's tomb
Where the cremated body is burned into flesh
An hour or so will go, before
The ladies and lords appear, saying they held the dead dear
With their eye lashes long, and their hair well groomed
And with their social rankings assumed
They murmur in small segregated groups
One and another in and out of the loop
Drinking fine wine as they whine about the futures that loom
To meet the same fate, as ashes in a vase
Doomed to have their relatives assume
Control over their net worth when they're worth about as much as the dirt
That their corpses will be buried in
The rick wrath that comes with the click clacks
Followed by the final clap
And a toast
But before that
You'll hear someone screaming that their water's from tap
Disinherited relatives talking shit behind a dead man's back
The cremated flesh in a Good Will sweater vest
A stuffed body stage, the actor's a doll, with the same clothes and all
As the dead man in a vase without a face but still with the ashes of a case of a million dollars burned
That each relative thinks they deserve
But in ignorance,
There is a crass cheer of upper class glass to old lifeand new money that they think they've earned

Daily Quote: There is more hunger for love and appreciation
in this world than for bread.
- Mother Teresa
Linguist Corner-SPANISH: desgracia, noun / misfortune, bad luck
The basic meaning of desgracia is something unfortunate. So, in the following example it means bad luck, rather than its false friend ‘disgrace’.
Example:
Es una desgracia que haya* tenido que abandonar el Tour de esta manera.
It’s bad luck that he’s had to drop out of the Tour like this.
This poem is about/a place I use to call my home;
a place where this new silence I see was once the laughter
of hope and pride. A place where my young feet
use to run in the freedom winds of innocence
but now as I look down this narrow street
I do not recognize the sorrow/ there is emptiness
as the price of destruction has diminished once proud
eyes and now there is no sun that rises about this sky
just clouds that have dampened a tough cement
into a muddy paradox of nothingness.
I use to run up and down this paved road singing
the sweet tunes of whistled happiness
manipulating older ears into their own sweet remembrance
of how their time here use to be. The older folk
always renewed history in telling the stories of their younger years
and now my own proud tears
bring this street back alive.
These lampposts have lifted their rust and fresh lights
shine down upon the feet of bicycles ready to smile again
and faded graffiti walls have washed themselves
of decay and now reach out to embrace
trees that have lost their names; these same trees
have found their identities again and now sparkle
in the sunlight of those golden days before crime
kidnapped the aspirations of many dreams;
before poverty took over the stage of hope
and before time took away the history
of a neighborhood that once held hands
upon this street of unity.
This poem is a memory
This poem is about /a place that will never be again
that place I used to call my home but my feet
still cry for this street because my heart
has never abandoned the beauty that nurtured
my growth; the beauty once absorbed by the foundation
of these sidewalks now dismantled
by the migration of everything that made life here
possible…
Daily Quote: weltschmerz \VELT-shmerts\, noun:
Sentimental pessimism; sorrow that one feels and accepts as one's necessary portion in life.
Example:
Cohen confused his mood with his chronic weltschmerz. He spoke at great length on the vicissitudes of a sensitive spirit, his dissatisfaction, the inadequacy of this sphere as far as he was concerned.
-- Daniel Fuchs, Summer in Williamsburg
Don't disturb the dead bird
Its dry cry goes unheard
Poked at by sticks broken off a nearby rotted tree
Near its body underneath the marquee
With young knuckles wrapped around its imagined hilt
Its body tossed like a rag doll embossed
With cheap black tattered imitation leather
The slick tick of time on rain pattered feathers
A charred cheap treasure
With cracked wings amongst other small things
Pulled joints, and ligaments, tied with strings
It will never be buried, only spat at
Small children squeek "look at that!"
And run off giggling with their swords
Pretending to be ladies and lords
Daily Quote: Let us be kind;
The way is long and lonely,
And human hearts are asking for this blessing only --
That we be kind.
We cannot know the grief that men may borrow,
We cannot see the souls storm-swept by sorrow,
But love can shine upon the way to-day, to-morrow --
Let us be kind.
- W. Lomax Childress
Daily Quote: You know that you have fully experienced love
when you turn into love -
that is the spiritual goal of life.
- Deepak Chopra
Linguist Corner-ITALIAN: quadro: painting / noun

Oh fair and faithful wind,
Aid thy wind for thy freedom of flight,
As the sound of night that does pierce my heart,
And My falling heart that does tremble at the start,
For the walls that ground my freedom,
These walls that hide me from my home.
Oh fair Society and your faithful loyalties,
My mind evades them yet I love them still,
The stray dogs bristle by the scorn of another,
At the stalking wolf of moonlight days,
Here at the crosswords of my father's strength,
I leap from the mantle made by man,
like the falling feather that does dance with gaiety in the fall,
Running wild and free as the wind is awake in me,
These lonely grounds are mine alone,
Mine alone to bathe naked in spirit,
and mine to wander wherever I please,
And now I am free...

A sweet peal of laughter rings through the sky,
A petal of sorts, falling from high,
A questionable green seems to imply,
Only what one could not wish to deny.
An unspoken word sets her apart,
The unspoken word, like a lost art,
The unspoken word, spoken straight from the heart,
Is spoken with only love to impart.
A darling June seeks its way,
It loves, it lives, a strong display,
Of how to not lead fate away,
From Queens and Kings in summers day.
Haunting feelings leave no regret,
Shadows of sun wake in silhouette.
Queens and Kings dance slowly yet fair,
Like peals of laughter and petals in air.
Do not follow…lead
It is the only way to succeed
Do not walk the path
But, be the path
Truth be told
Truth be told
Judge me not by my words
Because afterwards
You will see in an instant
All of my commitment
Truth be told
Truth be told
Bust my mind
Show me your kind
Not him, not her
I wish to see neither
Truth be told
Truth be told
There are schemes and seams
You must find a means
To cut and slice
Make your own sacrifice
Truth be told
Truth be told

"Time is a dressmaker specializing in alterations."
~Faith Baldwin
This day, was so special, when big chocoholics so little,
sang the jelly bean prayer from the basket of victory.
You may have heard, or never, of this for-surreal history;
So please do listen as I share this, ever real, bonny story.
There was a knock at the door, I wondered who could it be?
Was it the Easter Bunny with some scripture candy for me?
I looked through the window, and seen every precious hue.
All about the green grass was eggs scarlet, yellow, and blue.
The sun has beautifully risen from the wonderful east.
I felt so happy with the magic of life within released.
There was a flash, visual music, just past the red oak tree.
I seen his tall ears, marshmallow tail, then his quick feet.
He has to be from heaven, I do give him merit
He left us proof, he left us a half bitten carrot
And when I went to bed that warm spring night
Mother told me why the egg was the color white
I thanked my dear mother with kisses and laughter
I told her I loved my basket with the purple wrapper
She said, it was my father’s idea, I’m his dear child
He said, it’s the meaning of life, to again give me a smile.

Daily Quote: Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love.
The real miracle is the love that inspires them.
In this sense everything that comes from love is a miracle.
