Death stood beside me
Whispering in my ear.
I am angry at myself for listening to him
And at all those who invite him.
Talk of death with dignity,
Smug philosophy feigning religion.
Praising physical and spiritual extinction,
The void the preferred destination.
Religion that exploits politics,
Politics that exploit religion.
Suicides in patriotism and martyrdom cloak
While this earth, in the blood of innocents, soak.
Such arrogance of them to decide the Hour!
Who are they to destroy what He has caused to flower?
While among us Souls suffer,
And fragile Minds are tormented.
In the Darkness of isolation,
Lives reach the end of meditation.
Live Life and create.
Live Life and give hope!
Pray They who suffer give Life another chance
And by all Our Actions this world enhance.
