We’re not sending cards this year
The postage is far too dear.
With presents home-made
we’re beating the crunch.
Home-made sweets
are the best of the bunch,
and poems for the grandkids,
but I have a hunch
that they’d rather have consoles
and ipods
and pizzas for lunch,
than turkey and sprouts
and Gran’s Christmas pud.
If I were their age,
I know I would.

"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time."
~Laura Ingalls Wilder
